Opening the Cemetery
On a day like any other, I was scrolling through reddit and saw a post on /r/gamedeals about Lead & Gold: Gangs of the West. I had bought that game years ago during a sale, and had quite enjoyed it, but the online community dried up within a couple months. It was impossible to find a game. I figured I'd comment on the post and let everyone know, but someone had already beaten me to it. Pictured above is the exchange that followed, and the inspiration for creating /r/graveyardgames.
Shortly after that comment by Modus-Pwnens, I created /r/graveyardgames, and made a post in /r/gaming to see if anyone was interested. Unexpectedly, they were. The sub exploded with activity, and currently has 200 subscribers. I also quickly got messages from Cheekydood and Ancientgameguy asking if I could use some moderators. Thank you to both of those guys for jumping on board. It will take more than me to turn this subreddit, and it's community into more than just a place to reminisce about old games.
It is my hope to organize and grow this community into something special, where everyone gets to be active, take part, and just have fun. The other mods and I will be chatting about where to go from here. Stick around, because I think we could have something special here once we get our feet under us.
Thanks,
Citizen_Gamer
